48 Pillars

February 24 - April 14, 2018

Venue
Arc Gallery

Location
San Francisco, CA

Arc Gallery presents the second installation of 48 Pillars featuring new artwork by Vincent Jackson.

48 Pillars was inspired by a chance encounter at Flax Art and Design with a close-out sale of deep vertical panels, 48 x 12 x 1 5/8 inches. Twenty-four local Bay Area artists will produce two pieces each on these identically sized panels that will exactly ring the gallery, with 48 works total.

This is the second exhibition at Arc Gallery that is essentially a “structural constraint” show. Artists are unconstrained in subject matter except to the extent that works need to be a series; but they are constrained in format.

Featured artists include: Carlos Cartagena, Paula Dupois Dupuis, Holly Downing, Georgianne Fastaio, Rebecca Fox, Laura Hapka, Patter Hellstrom, Ester Hernandez, Howard Hersh, Isis Tatiana Hockenos, Vincent Jackson, Ivy Jacobsen, Carole Jeung, Kevin Keul, Joseph Kowalczyk, Katja Leibenath, Paul Morin, Stephen Namara, Hadley Radt, Lucky Rapp, Fernando Reyes, Ari Salomon, Cindy Shih, & Ursula X. Young

Curated by Arc Gallery owner Michael Yochum.
