Joseph “JayD” Green's (b. 1993, San Francisco) multi disciplinary creative process spans printmaking, drawing, painting, and ceramics. For Green, art-making is an opportunity to explore his own imagination and engage in community. A practicing artist at Creativity Explored for over a decade, Green’s wealth of work demonstrates his commitment to craft and self-fashioning.

Green is known by his teaching artists for his collaborative, creative approach to making, always open to trying new ideas and forms. This spirit of curiosity is evident in his diverse, experimental body of work—figurative pieces, abstraction, and a recognizable lineage in Black expressive culture characterize his repertoire.

Green has been featured in over thirty group exhibitions across California, Maryland, and New York. In 2014, Green co-curated his first exhibition, Shoerageous, with fellow studio artist Gerald Wiggins. In 2023, Green served as a panelist for “Workshopping the Outside In” at FOG Design & Art fair. His first public art project, a large-scale art fence, was completed in 2025 at the Kelsey Civic Center’s community center.

Learn more about Green in this video, which debuted at Art Changes Lives 2017.
