Art Changes Lives 2024
At Art Changes Lives this year, we are celebrating you — for making an unprecedented year of opportunities for our artists possible. With milestone acquisitions, exhibitions, and publications around the Bay, our community is experiencing the power of being seen. Join us for an evening like never before, as we harness this incredible moment to open new doors for artists with disabilities in 2024.
BACC Housing Workshop
Join us for a community focused afternoon and an opportunity to participate in a Creativity Explored video project focused on housing for people with disabilities.
Housing is a crucial issue in the Bay Area, but it has a disproportionate burden on the disabled community. Our artists at Creativity Explored envision a San Francisco where everyone, regardless of ability, has access to safe and inclusive housing. Thanks to the support of the Bay Area Creative Corps grant, we have the opportunity to bring this vision to life through art and personal testimonies. Come be a part of this important project and help us create a more inclusive and supportive community for all.
The Record Store Night!
Join us at Creativity Explored and BFF.fm for a night of music and art on April 5th from 5-8 p.m.! DJ Lead Teddy and Lonald J. Bandz will provide the groove while you enjoy the party. Bring your own records to swap and shirts or totes for screen printing. Don't forget to check out our current exhibition, 'The Record Store.' Come together with us to celebrate art, music, and community—you won't want to miss it!

Art is Art: Creativity Explored at Rare Device
In honor of Creativity Explored’s 40th anniversary and the release of Art is Art, Rare Device invited a select group of CE artists to showcase drawings and sculpture work. Original artworks include popular color-block oil pastel portraits by Vincent Jackson, who has worked at CE for four decades; Nubia Ortega’s cartoon-like ceramic cars glazed with Crayola-like hues; and Gerald Wiggin’s sculpture “dude” figures who are named after imaginary and known characters. You’ll love the pops of color and whimsical nature of these artists’ work and will learn firsthand how Art is Art, no matter who makes it.
Outsider Art Fair
This year at the Outsider Art Fair, Creativity Explored is highlighting six artists who have been hard at work in our progressive art studio for over a decade.
HUES
Creativity Explored is thrilled to join NIAD in the spotlight of 'HUES,' a celebration honoring Black artists in the Bay Area.
Presenting twenty-five outstanding Black artists from the Bay Area, this showcase will be hosted at Senator Scott Wiener's Office in the State of California Building, San Francisco. This exhibition will showcase over 30 pieces encompassing painting, photography, sculpture, textile, and mixed media from Black artists in the Bay Area.
Root Division
Crip’d Ecologies: Unfurling Expanded Environments
This exhibition will feature two Creativity Explored artists Elana Cooper and Peter Cordova.
Crip’d Ecologies: Unfurling Expanded Ecologies addresses ecosystems that are personal, shared, and imagined. Inviting artists across disabilities to consider the following curatorial question: How can we bring dynamic Crip strategies into landscapes, ecosystems, and bodies impacted by climate change to support practices of becoming, grief, abundance, and multispecies relationships instead of scarcity?
Alongside the exhibition, Root Division will also host a two day convening and offer hybrid, online and in-person programming.
Co-curated by Moira Williams and Jeremiah Barber

These flower portraits are elegant, awkward, bold, and true to themselves– reflecting the quirky personalities of both flowers and people.
