Make Your Own Crown

August 16-31, 2014

Venue
Alley Cat Books

Location
3036 24th Street, San Francisco, Ca 94110

Creativity Explored Alum Michael Bernard Loggins is featured in Make Your Own Crown, an exhibition on view at Alley Cat Books through August 31st.

Loggins, who began working at Creativity Explored in 1984, is known for his text-based artworks that play with language and are inspired from his everyday life. Loggins' book, Fears of Your Life, was featured on This American Life, and his work has been included in many exhibitions throughout the Bay Area. Loggins likes to spend his time traveling around the city, collecting experiences he can translate into works of art or friendly notes to his favorite shoppkeepers.

In this exhibition, notes written by Loggins and left at the counter of Alley Cat Books are on display. These simple works on paper, usually drawn with a Sharpie, offer inspiration, a laugh, or just reminders that "life is for living and fun, not the opposite of it."

Other participating artists include: Micah Ludeke, Kate Akimbo, and Robert Collins.
