Join us for Outsider Art Fair’s 30th Anniversary in New York City

In honor of 30 years of the Outsider Art Fair, Creativity Explored (CE) is proud to present Creating Legacies, an exhibition featuring rising stars and veteran artists working in our San Francisco studios.

This year’s booth includes a diverse collection of work by OAF favorites Evelyn Reyes, John Patrick McKenzie, and Vincent Jackson, alongside younger artists who carry our legacy into the future. Jackson’s distinct portraits have inspired our creative community since the early 1980s – recently discovered in our archives, a classic pastel portrait, featured here, will introduce booth visitors to the rich history and practices of disabled Bay Area artists.

Returning to New York are Selene Perez’s avian ink paintings, Nubia Ortega’s effusive handbuilt ceramics, and Daniel Green’s provocative text-based memories of TV media. The collection introduces a fresh body of work by Joseph “JD” Green, whose portraiture explores depictions of Blackness in American history and the Black psyche.

The booth will also feature a curated selection of unframed work by the delightful Camille Holvoet, original fashions and fiber-based artwork created during the pandemic.

Representing nearly four decades of artistry at Creativity Explored, Creating Legacies bridges the studio’s humble origins in a Mission District garage in 1983 with a vision for an authentically inclusive future.
