Creativity Explored

Richard Wright

Richard Wright (b. 1955, San Francisco) creates intriguing, and sometimes haunting, worlds of critters, real and imagined. Moving remarkably quickly from the fairly simple stick figures with unembellished features that he created when he first joined Creativity Explored in 2012, Wright has become known for his detailed, and multi-textured renditions of self-created imaginary creatures, ocean life, ancient masks, and monsters from the world of film. Also noteworthy are the adjective-riddled titles Wright gives his artworks, such as The Most Fasteanating and Strange and Cool Creatures Under the Sea.

After Wright’s artwork Exotic Alphabet, 2014, acrylic on canvas, 78 x 96 inches was featured in Dwell in February 2015, he received requests for similar commissioned pieces, including one for the lobby of Hotel G, a luxury boutique hotel in San Francisco.
