Planned Giving

Transform your personal passion into a lasting legacy with a planned gift to Creativity Explored. We would be delighted to meet with you to discuss your intentions and unique circumstances. While we encourage these conversations, we also recommend consulting your estate planning professional or tax advisor to ensure your philanthropic goals align with your overall financial and tax plans.

If you have already included Creativity Explored in your estate plans or through another type of planned gift, please let us know so we can express our gratitude and recognize your generosity appropriately.

We understand and respect those who prefer to remain anonymous; however, sharing your plans with us—confidentially—helps ensure CE can plan responsibly for the future. To start a conversation, please contact Denise Boulter, Director, Advancement, at deniseboulter@creativityexplored.org.

We accept a range of planned giving options:

  • Wills or Trusts

The simplest way to leave a planned gift is to make a bequest including specific language in your will or living trust naming Creativity Explored as the recipient.

The following is an example of suggested language to include in your will/trust:

“I give and bequeath to Creativity Explored, a California non-profit corporation, located at 3245 16th Street, San Francisco, CA 94103, the sum of $____, or ______% of my estate, to be used for the accomplishment of its general purpose (or for a specific purpose as indicated).”

  • Retirement Plans & Life Insurance Policies

You can name Creativity Explored as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), 403(b), or life insurance policy. This simple option can reduce or eliminate significant tax liabilities.

If you are age 70 ½ or older, you may also use your required minimum distribution—up to $108,000 per year—as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA, satisfying your required minimum distribution while avoiding income tax.

  • Charitable Gift Annuities

A charitable gift annuity is the easiest way to create dependable income for life while also helping Creativity Explored. Please note that Creativity Explored does not administer charitable gift annuities but can recommend an administrator.

  • Charitable Trusts

A Charitable Remainder Trust or Charitable Lead Trust allows you to receive an estate or gift tax deduction and create a source of income for you or your loved ones while supporting Creativity Explored. Please note that CE does not administer these trusts but can recommend an administrator.

  • Real Estate/Appreciated Assets

A variety of assets can be donated such as real estate, appreciated securities, and tangible personal property such as artwork or jewelry. Donating appreciated assets can offer significant tax advantages while supporting our mission.

If you are contemplating gifting an investment property or a vacation home, a gift of real estate offers an excellent option for tax-wise giving. You can also include Creativity Explored as a beneficiary of real estate or appreciated assets in your will.

Please note that, per our gift acceptance policy, all non-cash gifts are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
