About Lance’s “Rainbow Tunnel”

Lance Rivers is known for his architectural drawings of the Bay Area. For this iconic work, Lance drew the Rainbow Tunnel that you see on the drive from San Francisco into Marin County. Translated onto a blanket, it’s the perfect product to bring the dreamy beauty of the Bay Area into your home.

In describing his inspiration for his drawings, Lance said that “it interests me and I enjoy looking at it. I love architecture, bridges, tunnels, and transportation. I am inspired by BART, MUNI buses, streetcars, and trains.”  Lance’s art practice emphasizes the idea, above all others, of the local as monumental. He is an avid appreciator of the Bay Area, and recommends Sutro Towers and Mount Davidson as two of the best viewpoints in San Francisco.

I am excited to use my blanket! I will probably put it on my couch.

About Vincent’s “African Beauty”

San Francisco native Vincent Jackson is one of the most prolific and longest practicing artists at Creativity Explored.

Vincent is known for his large-scale figurative portraits, rendered with thick, defining lines. Jackson segments the human form into geometric shapes, each filled with a heavy impasto of layered colors and arranged with a masterful sense of harmony. The resulting mask-like works can be viewed as a contemporary renewal of traditional African and Oceanic folk art imagery, entrancing art collectors around the world. This is especially true in “African Beauty” the artwork depicted on this graphic and bold Plunge towel. Vincent’s bright blue and yellow work stands out against the Bay area landscape. It is the perfect summer accessory for a bright day at the beach.

When asked what inspires him, Vincent said, “Gospel music. I am a totally gospel person. I love to do art, I love music, I love being around fun people. Some of the teachers here [at Creativity Explored] are very interesting.”

The towel is unique, wonderful and very artistic. I am so glad that you picked my design to go on the towel. What I want is for people to know the beauty of the towel. I want this towel to be a boomer!
