Susan Henderson’s Board Super Power!
Creativity Explored has seven new Board members! This spring we’ll be highlighting the superpowers and experience they’re bringing to Creativity Explored to help us reach our goals. Meet the fifth in our series: Susan Henderson!
About Susan: Susan Henderson is the executive director of Disability Rights Education & Defense Fund (DREDF), a national disability rights law and policy center based in Berkeley, with an office in Washington, DC. At DREDF, she started the Disability & Media Alliance Project to complement its legal work by reorienting media's focus from sensational and cloying stories about disabled people to telling stories that make clear that inclusion and opportunity for children and adults with disabilities are civil and human rights issues. Susan worked for 13 years as part of the team that planned, designed and constructed the Ed Roberts Campus, a universally-designed building in Berkeley. She loves her job and the community of people with disabilities who she has been fortunate to meet and work with around the world.
Why Susan Joined CE’s Board: “I joined Creativity Explored’s Board because I believe in CE's mission and its ability to empower disabled people through creative expression.”
Susan’s Favorite CE Artist: “One of my favorite CE artists is Pablo Calderon. ”
Susan’s Super Power: Susan Henderson’s prowess as an executive director will enrich our finance committee and help Creative Explored grow as a nonprofit.
