stARTup Art Fair Panel Discussion

Join artist Gerald Wiggins and Visual Arts Instructor Joe McGovern for a panel discussion entitled "Creativity Can Come From Anywhere" hosted by Dava Guthmiller, Artist/Founder, In/Visibile Talks.

Admission required for art fair entry. The panel discussion is free for ticket holders.

About the Panel Discussion

There are tried and true frameworks designed to engineer outcomes and guarantee results and there are also outcomes that emerge from those who choose to follow a more intuitive, sometimes less structured path.

Join In/Visible Talks in discussion with Creativity Explored as we examine the creative motivations that underlie outsider artists. This panel is in conjunction with art and design studio clean up where the donated materials will be used to commission Creativity Explored artists and their work will be exhibited at a later date.

About the Exhibition

Arc Gallery presents the second installations of 48 Pillars featuring new artwork by Vincent Jackson.

48 Pillars was inspired by a chance encounter at Flax Art and Design with a close-out sale of deep vertical panels, 48 x 12 x 1 5/8 inches. Twenty-four local Bay Area artists will produce two pieces each on these identically sized panels that will exactly ring the gallery, with 48 works total.

This is the second exhibition at Arc Gallery that is essentially a “structural constraint” show. Artists are unconstrained in subject matter except to the extent that works need to be a series; but they are constrained in format.

Featured artists include: Carlos Cartagena, Paula Dupois Dupuis, Holly Downing, Georgianne Fastaio, Rebecca Fox, Laura Hapka, Patter Hellstrom, Ester Hernandez, Howard Hersh, Isis Tatiana Hockenos, Vincent Jackson, Ivy Jacobsen, Carole Jeung, Kevin Keul, Joseph Kowalczyk, Katja Leibenath, Paul Morin, Stephen Namara, Hadley Radt, Lucky Rapp, Fernando Reyes, Ari Salomon, Cindy Shih, & Ursula X. Young

Curated by Arc Gallery owner Michael Yochum.
