This Is My Family

August 21 - October 11, 2002

Venue
Creativity Explored

Location
San Francisco, CA

This Is My Family is an exhibition of artistic journals prints and collages focusing on the theme of family. Some Creativity Explored artists have led lives characterized by previous isolation and institutionalization while others have benefited from supportive and accepting family environments. A wider concept of "family" is explored in the show as many member artists find familial bonds with peers in a group home or at Creativity Explored. The exhibition deals with themes familiar to everyone -- love loss abandonment kinship -- and makes the audience more aware that these shared human experiences are often more powerful than our differences. This is My Family is curated by Gloria Morales Creativity Explored art instructor.
