Joseph Green

Joseph “JD” Green (b. 1993) is a native of San Francisco. He joined the Creativity Explored studio in 2012 after taking several art classes in high school. JD's work combines an appreciation for animals and the natural world with a considerate eye for form, anatomy, and detail.

JD’s process involves creating preliminary sketches from source imagery found online or in his imagination, sometimes combining these into a new composition, and then creating a final version of that image. His chosen disciplines are printmaking, drawing, and ceramics, but he’s also experimented with etching and working on wood. For JD, art-making is an opportunity to relax, to explore his own imagination, and to engage others in conversation about what he is creating.

In 2014, Green co-curated Shoerageous, an exhibition featuring shoes in all colors, shapes, and sizes. His artwork has been featured in numerous exhibitions at Creativity Explored. Also, CB2 selected Green's artwork to adorn a pillow in 2015.
