Zachary Adams

Zachary Adams (b. 1987) joined the Creativity Explored studio in 2010. Adams is known primarily for his text-based artwork.

Essentially love letters to real and imagined people, each piece is handwritten over a wash of color often with geometric shapes. The phrases range from the poetic: “Your eyes shine like the moon”, to the practical: “We could shop for food and cook pasta.”

In 2011 and 2012, Adams wrote a series of love letters onto brown paper bags. The use of brown paper bags as a canvas, in artworks like You are so Pretty, 2012, acrylic, marker on brown paper bag, 25 x 17 inches, gives his love letters a more intimate yet fleeting quality.

Adams' work has been exhibited internationally. In 2014, he was included in West Coasts, Museum of La Creation France, Begles, France.  In 2011, a set of notecards was based on one of Adams' love letters.
