Five and Two Others Curated by Mildred Howard
Exhibition
Posted on February 13, 2019

Acclaimed artist Mildred Howard believes, “Art is art, regardless of who makes it.” In this forthcoming group show, Howard presents selected artworks of five Creativity Explored artists, Vincent Jackson, James Miles, Selene Perez, Evelyn Reyes, and Lance Rivers, alongside two contemporary Bay Area artists, Oliver Lee Jackson and John Moore. Addressing inequities in curatorial practices in the art world, Howard aims to open up a dialogue about artistic representation by presenting groupings of small format works by artists with and without developmental disabilities, with an egalitarian vision and exceptional grace.

Marilyn Wong: Catching Spirit highlights the range and depth of Wong’s artistic practice with a focus on recent works on paper, from 2010 to the present. Fabulate!
Exhibition
Posted on September 6, 2018

Over the years, collaborations with Commes Des Garçons, Modify Watches, and Kayu have lit up shops, runways, and our studio. Now, Creativity Explored returns to the runway with Fabulate!, a group fashion exhibition of raw couture designed with repurposed and deconstructed materials. Inspired by the innate desire to express oneself through dress, over 50 artists transformed fabric, clothing, and accessories using paint, embroidery, and fiber art into one-of-a-kind statement pieces ready for the street or runway. The collection offers unique and handmade skirts, dresses, t-shirts, jackets, dresses, and accessories, imbued with the spirit and style of the CE studio. Many garments were produced in partnership with the City College of San Francisco Surface Design Class, that has been taking place at the CE studio since 1988.
