Things I See…update

In the Studio

The artists at our Arkansas Street studio have been busy making pieces for the “Things I See Every Day” workshop. Each artist has chosen the photograph that will be the source of the following projects, and the drawings and paintings have begun!

Look for images of Eric Boysaw’s photo of a tree and the subsequent painting. Next are Laron Bickerstaff’s photo of a computer screen displaying a picture of CE artist Allura Fong, and then the drawing and painting made from the photo of the friend displayed on the computer’s desktop that was captured in the first photograph, whew!, that’s practically a conceptual art-piece. Then, Michael Bernard Loggins’ photograph of his tape recorder and the drawing. These are followed by Thomas Pringle’s photo of a book of photographs open on his desk (more high-concept ideas), and the drawing and painting afterward. Finally, check out Edana Contreras’ drawing made from her photo of the bicycle area in the lobby of her building. Some are a little mind-bending, but all the projects are exciting to watch as they develop.
