Things I See Every Day

In the Studio

An interesting workshop, “Things I See Every Day”, has begun at our Arkansas Street studio. Led by guest artist Leah Tischler, the workshop’s goal is to generate four projects from a single source photograph. Each artist was given a disposable camera to capture images or situations from their everyday lives. One of these photos will be chosen as the basis for the next four pieces of art. Beginning with a drawing and moving through painting, sculpture, and finally, switching art-forms to writing, the next four weeks will be spent investigating, detailing, and expanding the photo into new artworks.

Eric Boysaw, Laron Bickerstaff, Edana Contreras, Michael B. Loggins, and Thomas Pringle are the participating artists. We’ll update their progress as the work takes its different shapes.
