King Tut Rediscovered at Boogaloos

One of our longest running community partnerships is with Boogaloos Restaurant on Valencia Street in San Francisco. They have been displaying our artwork since way back in the long forgotten final decades of the 20th Century, and this iconic Mission District breakfast & lunch spot has always been one of the places where people first learn about CE and our incredible artists.

Currently hanging inside the restaurant are King Tut inspired works from the studio. As the Tut show resides at the de Young Museum, and more of the artists here visit it, the compelling story of the boy King takes on more mythical and puzzling aspects. For instance: was Tut actually buried in a Temple o’ Spuds? and did the archeologists really find a “Fake Stake” Sandwich buried beside him? and who knew Tutankhamen needed glasses because he loved to cross his eyes? For explanations of these and other historical phenomena drop by 22nd & Valencia and see for yourself.
