“Cross Your Eyes Keep Them Wide” wins gold medal

Awards & Recognition

General News

Ben Wu’s documentary film about artists working at Creativity Explored, “Cross Your Eyes Keep Them Wide”, has been getting a lot of attention and accolades. We are delighted to learn that the film recently won a gold medal at the Student Academy Awards.

Ben talks with Hugh Hart in today’s Datebook, and shares his early ideas about this film and his plans for the next one.

“A friend told me about this sort of innocuous storefront off the main drag of 16th Street where they had this amazing art studio for people with developmental disabilities,” he says. “I was blown away by the explosion of color everywhere, by artists and their unique artwork, and the sense of community and safety they experienced in that place.”

We think Ben did a wonderful job capturing the spirit of CE, and are pleased to learn of his recent award. Kudos and congratulations to Ben!!!

Copies of this film are available in the CE online store.
