2006 SF Notables event a smashing success! Thank you!
General News
Our 2006 San Francisco Notables reception and portrait auction was a huge success! For our second annual event, thanks to 28 studio CE studio artists who created portraits of 49 celebrities, leaders and colorful characters from the Bay area, we had a spectacular and varied collection of portraits on the auction block. We extend a sincere thanks to Eiming Jung from 111 Minna Gallery for generously hosting the event. We thank everyone who attended the event and helped us to raise $34,000. Neil Young purchased his portrait by Thanh Diep and put a halt to the bidding with his $1K bid! Mark Leno and Jeff Adachi were in the crowd welcoming CE artists who arrived in a limousine, courtesy of Bauer’s Limousine and Worldwide Transportation. Andrew McKinley and Joyce Maynard represented the literary scene, and Leah Garchik kept a watchful eye on the jubilant crowd. Emmett Powell and Jim Shorter looked almost as dapper as their portraits! Elizabeth Falkner looked pleased as cake when she saw her portrait, and several choir members from Conspiracy of Beards were delighted with the rendition on the wall. Programs graciously designed by Jody Hanson and printed by Oscar Printing provided a whimsical keepsake to take home. And a special thank you to Paula West for her grace, spirit, and absolutely lovely voice. Thanks to Kelly Kornigay, Rayon Vert, for the lovely floral arrangements that brought forth all those oohs and aahs.
We would also like to thank the following restaurants for their support and generosity helping to make this night one to remember: 2223 Restaurant and Bar, Asqew Grill, Boogaloos, Bi-Rite Market, Blowfish Sushi to Die For, Columbus Salame, Platanos Cafe y Cocina Rustica, Soluna, Tangerine, Universal Cafe, and Yo Yo Restuarant. Thanks to great service by the guys from Jeff Duerson Staffing, the crowd did not lack food! Wine provided by San Francisco Wine Trading Company and Winery Exchange kept the crowd in good spirits, and the bidding competitive and high. Thank you!
