Anthony (Tony) Gomez was born in 1933. Gomez was an artist at Creativity Explored from 1985 until 2015.
Gomez is versatile, working with a variety of media, including colored pencils, acrylics, watercolors, and collage. His work is characterized by repeating marks and shapes over broad washes of color. Gomez has an intuitive sense of color and expertly pairs warm and cool hues.
In tune with his friendly, affable nature, Gomez frequently collaborates with other artists, combining his abstract style with another’s figurative work. Gomez has been described as “an artist’s artist” — loving the pure process of art making.
In addition to more than a dozen exhibitions at Creativity Explored, Gomez was featured in Bay Area Now 7 at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in 2013.
