Main Gallery Exhibition Schedule
January 12 – March 9, 2017
Guest Curator: Colter Jacobsen
Lance Rivers' expansive first solo show at Creativity Explored sheds light upon his prolific career as an artist living in San Francisco. Rivers' art explores the wonder of life amongst monumental forms: bridges, buildings, tunnels and other icons of human industry. He offers a personal vision of familiar structures, imbued with loving attention to detail and endowed with an uncanny spatial presence.
Colter Jacobsen is an artist that lives and works in the Bay Area. He is represented by Gallery Anglim Gilbert in SF and Corvi-Mora in London and has exhibited at SFMOMA, the Istanbul Biennial, and the Baltic Triennial. Colter has worked as a care-giver and at the Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually-Impaired as an art instructor. He's been a long time admirer of Lance River's work and curated Lance's first solo exhibition for the 2014 "People's Biennial" at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit. He is a passionate advocate for Creativity Explored artists and is a vital contributor to the Bay Area arts community.
Full Stop Ahead

Full Stop Ahead is an exploration of the ways three artists use mark-making to experiment, communicate vision, and collaborate. All three artists: Hung Kei Shiu, Corine Raper, and Claus Groeger are, for the most part, non verbal, and use mark-making is a mode of expression. Each artist brings their own unique mark making style from a morisse code aesthetic to emotionally gestural contours to straight edged marks. This exhibit brings together a unique group of artists celebrating the possibility of the line.
Black and White

This large group exhibition explores the ways in which CE artist use monochrome as a creative device. Peering through a lens of black and white, the artists present their own unique styles and techniques in a variety of media: drawings, paintings on paper or other surfaces, quilts, yarn sculpture, banners, etc.
July 5 – July 27, 2017

PROJECT SPACE is an active art-making exhibition in which a group of studio artists create work live in the gallery space. Several of the CE studio artists will transform the gallery white walls using their paintbrushes and markers into their own personal masterpieces.
August 3 – September 28, 2017

Nudes is a small group exhibit exploring and celebrating the human form. Throughout history, artists have created nude paintings for purely aesthetic purposes, as well as to explore a variety of cultural, psychological and social themes. In this exhibit the CE studio artists investigate the human anatomy through a variety of mediums and techniques.
Participating artists: Antonio Benjamin, Camille Holvoet, Jose Nunez, Thomas Pringle, and Kate Thompson.
Bride of Monster
October 5 – November 19, 2017

Bride of Monster is a small group exhibit that reinterprets the female monsters in wild and new ways throughout cinematic history. The CE studio artists will create unique renditions of—typically lesser-known—female monsters from film, literature and mythology.
Annual Holiday Art Shop
December 1 – 30, 2017
During this not-to-be-missed annual holiday art sale, Creativity Explored’s studio and gallery will be filled with original art prints, paintings, drawings, ceramics, sculptures, and textiles by over 135 artists.
