If you are a visual artist interested in teaching a workshop in our studio, or collaborating with our artists on a project, you may want to become a Creativity Explored Visiting Artist.

Teach

On a regular basis, Creativity Explored hosts workshops taught by professional artists. Workshops are scheduled on Monday and Tuesday each week, and run six to twelve weeks. We are interested in hearing from you if you have an idea for an art making experience we do not offer on an ongoing basis. Workshop instructors afford studio artists opportunities to learn new techniques, or use media in different ways, or concentrate on a theme for an exhibition. Visiting artists have conducted workshops in printmaking techniques, wearable art, papier mache container construction, mapmaking, life drawing, fabric printing techniques and film making. Visiting poets conducted a workshop on spoken word that was a huge success. We are open to discuss future workshop possibilities that explore dance, music, spoken word, or theater.

Visiting artists are paid a stipend to teach a workshop. If you would like to discuss a workshop idea, we would love to hear from you. We’ll want to see your portfolio and learn more about your art making and teaching experience. If you are interested, please contact us. We prefer to meet with workshop applicants.

Please note that we have scheduled visiting artist workshops through September 2008.

Collaborate

Studio artists have collaborated with local artists on a number of successful projects, including book illustrations, murals, installation art, and dance performances. If you have an idea, please contact us. We look forward to talking with you!
