Outside In: The Art of Inclusion is the outcome of a collaborative partnership between the Crawford Art GalleryCIT Crawford College of Art & DesignMayfield Arts Centre/Newbury House and Cork City Council. The exhibition showcases the artwork of over 50 artists with intellectual disabilities working in supported studio settings.

Ten artists from Creativity Explored were selected to take part in this extensive international exhibition showcasing the work of over 50 artists working in supported studio settings.

Artists from HAI of New York, Kunstwerkplaats from Amsterdam, Rocket Artists (Brighton) as well as Kcat (Kilkenny), St Raphaels (Youghal), Glasheen Artists Studio group (Cork) and Cùig (Mayfield, Cork) are also represented.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a publication, discussions and workshops with participating artists, aiming to connect with a diverse audience through the Crawford Gallery’s access and outreach program and CIT Crawford College of Art & Design’s academic program.

It is an ambitious undertaking, both in scale and intent, aiming to bring to public awareness the richness and variety of artistic practice created by artists with intellectual disabilities: a community often placed at the margins of society, but who none the less are making an emerging and increasingly important contribution to the contemporary art world.

The exhibition is located in three main venues across Cork City as well as in a range of-site venues from mid-September until the end of October this year: Crawford Art Gallery located in the heart of the city, the Atrium of the City Hall and CIT Wandesford Quay Gallery.
