In celebration of Bitchin’, our new exhibition for humans and dogs, Creativity Explored is hosting Raise The Woof Adoption Days at the CE studio and gallery. Join us and meet dogs from Muttville Senior Dog Rescue looking for forever homes. Enjoy the day with CE artists as you learn about the work being done at Muttville to support senior shelter and rescue pets. If you’re looking for a new best friend, drop by and sniff around for loving dogs currently available for adoption.

Stick around to check out Bitchin’ in the CE gallery! We will have free dog treats for canine art patrons and limited-edition products featuring dog-themed artwork from the show. During the exhibition, we’ll be offering the opportunity to commission original portraits of your pet by a variety of CE artists. Bring your pup and we can help you snap a portrait for an original painting or drawing!

About Muttville Senior Dog Rescue
Muttville’s mission is to change the way the world thinks about and treats older dogs and to create better lives for them through rescue, foster, adoption, hospice, education, and advocacy.

Muttville was founded in 2007 by Sherri Franklin, a longtime animal advocate and rescue worker. Working from her house, Sherri rescued 27 dogs that year. Since then, Muttville has grown into a nationally recognized organization that rescues approximately 1000 dogs a year. (And it finally, in 2012, moved out of her house!)

Muttville has been recognized for its groundbreaking approach to animal rescue. Our cage-free facility, our focus on foster, our on-site veterinary suite, and our hospice program are innovations that have been lauded and emulated around the country.

Visitors gather for a contour line drawing workshop at our April pop-up at LinkedIn.

To help provide support for Bay Area nonprofits, LinkedIn has launched InCommon, a dedicated space in their San Francisco office for local nonprofits to use for events, meetings, and programs at no cost! LinkedIn is featuring artwork from local nonprofit, Creativity Explored, with all of the proceeds going to their artists. This space serves as a vital connection point for Bay Area nonprofits to achieve their missions and better connect with LinkedIn and their Social Impact programs.

We are thrilled to be partnering with LinkedIn as a resident in their new InCommon Community Engagement Space. During our residency, we will be hosting a series of exhibitions of CE artwork for LinkedIn staff and the nonprofits that will utilize the space for meetings and special events.

We are excited to host a series of free artmaking pop-ups for the general public, giving you the chance to step into a satellite CE studio and create art with CE artists and teachers!

Join us for our first artmaking pop-up on Wednesday, May 15 starting at 12:00 pm. Drop in to participate in a watercolor artmaking activity lead by CE artists Joseph "JD" Green and Gerald Wiggins with Visual Arts Instructor Enrique Quintero. The artmaking station will run until 2:00pm with a gallery pop-up shop featuring original art and products continuing until 5:30 pm. No experience needed.

While you're there enjoy an exhibition featuring the Steele Collection, CE's permanent collection of exceptional work, currently on view in the space. The space is currently open to the public during events only, so don't miss your chance to check out this incredible collaboration!

The dog trots freely in the street
and has his own dog’s life to live
and to think about
and to reflect upon
touching and tasting and testing everything
investigating everything
without benefit of perjury
a real realist
with a real tale to tell

We are pleased to present Bitchin’, a dog-themed exhibition for humans and dogs. In homage to San Franciscans’ appreciation for their pets, the exhibition includes original portraits of 'good dogs' by over two dozen CE artists.

Heartwarming and eclectic, Bitchin’ invites viewers to reflect on companionship and the joyful relationship between our species as we live our best “pug life.” The show acts as a celebration of the bond between species and ultimately a reflection around the artistic representation of canines, their stories, breeds, and personalities. Through original drawings, paintings, and sculptures Bitchin’ provides a platform for dogs to steal the show.

Part of the gallery will be transformed into a dog’s eye-level exhibition about some favorite canine things. Because dogs love art, food, humans, (and butts) and we do too.

Throughout the exhibition Creativity Explored will host adoption days with Family Dog Rescue and Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, local nonprofit shelters uniting dogs with forever homes. In celebration of the exhibition, Creativity Explored is partnering with Bark Magazine to promote and host related programming, including a unique panel discussion about the role of dogs and companionship in the arts with panel moderator Cameron Woo, co-founder and publisher of Bark Magazine. More details about programming and the adoption day events to come soon.
