Have you ever received advice from a Creativity Explored artist? New York Times bestselling author Beth Lisick thinks there is plenty to go around!
Lisick is collaborating with Creativity Explored to continue her line of creative nonfiction with a book about our artists. After getting to know many of them the past few years, Lisick realized CE studio artists have wonderfully insightful advice (and usually no hesitation about sharing it!). When she brought this book concept to CE, we decided it was a perfect fit with the organization’s mission by challenging stereotypes of people with disabilities; many people think about giving advice to people with disabilities, not receiving advice from them.
The book, Tell You What: Advice on Life from Creativity Explored (working title), will be about our artists’ philosophies on art and living. Lisick has been spending time with the artists in our studios and joining them on outings to museums and other local destinations.

This project is made possible in part by The Creative Work Fund, a program of the Walter and Elise Haas Fund supported by generous grants from The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and The James Irvine Foundation.
