Makeya Kaiser takes us on a visual journey of her artmaking process for a new piece produced in Creativity Explored's studio on Alabama Street.
"I created these shapes by drawing on scraps of cardboard. I drew each shape in reaction to the cardboard rectangles. Some of the shapes have windows and doors. It was interesting to mix the primary colors together."

"If you mix red into green you get a color like leaves."
The second composition with some new shapes.

Makeya and a slightly different arrangement.
"It makes me happy to place shapes of different colors and sizes next to each other. I like the spaces around the shapes."
"Then I tried a composition with more space around the shapes. I love the clean newly painted wall. These shapes are taking flight."
The artist in repose.
"I stretched these shapes out into a line. It is like a sentence or a line of dancers reacting to each other."
"Notice that one of the shapes looks like an L. These arrangements grew each day with new additions and new compositions."
"This is an ever evolving collage. This is also a new way to think about my painting."
