Born in 1942, Larry Cather returned to making art at Creativity Explored in 2001 after a ten year absence. Larry worked in our studios until 2008.
Cather was a versatile artist who worked with a variety of media but preferred pen and marker. His subject matter was mainly figurative but pattern played a large role in all of his compositions. Best known for landscapes broken down into patches of patterned color, Cather’s work often appeared textile-like.
Not only a visual artist, Cather was also a talented musician. He played both guitar and harmonica at the church that he attended.
