John Iwaszewicz

John Iwaszewicz (b. 1994, Buenos Aires) is a highly detailed painter and sculptor who recontextualizes seventeenth century Dutch myths and landscape paintings using his own illustrative style. A meticulous artist, Iwaszewicz works on each of his pieces for an extended amount of time, layering watercolors over finely-drawn landscapes and maps. Iwaszewicz often paints his subject matter in a miniature format, drawing his subjects in a constricted and tiny manner. The artist embeds dark allegorical themes into his artwork, adding symbolic and religious insignia to his paintings. Iwaszewicz remarks, ”Creativity Explored is wonderful and has really good people. I learned so much and have gained incredible skills.”

Iwaszewicz was raised in San Francisco and joined the Creativity Explored studio in 2016 after taking numerous art classes in high school.
