Born in Nicaragua in 1976, Jessenia Garcia and her family relocated to San Francisco. She has been an artist at Creativity Explored since 1999.
While Garcia does not speak, her complex, multi-layered canvases reveal she has much to express visually. Her work is characterized by a series of marks both delicate and bold. The end result can be a poetic juxtaposition of these opposing impulses. She experiments with a variety of media from acrylic paint to ink to colored markers, but often works with pencil in a private sketchbook.
Garcia’s instructor has aptly commented that her artwork “encompasses the contrast between intense chaos and peaceful quietude.”
