Creativity Explored

Eva Jun

Eva Jun (b. 1986, San Francisco, CA) joined the Creativity Explored studio in 2008. Jun prefers acrylic, pastel, watercolor, and ink. Her line gives an immense energy to her portrait, still-life, and abstract work.

Jun uses a tactile, loose, gestural stroke; only a few are needed to convey the shape of an object or figure. This technique shows an effortless representation of emotion in the faces she creates. The central image of the piece is often placed on a background where layers of marks, washes, and shading undulate and accent the movement felt in Jun’s work as a whole.

In 2009, Jun began exploring the three-dimensional aspects of wood by creating cut-outs of her drawings of robots and figures. Currently, Jun is investigating waves and zigs in bold and bright colors.

Jun was a featured in the highly acclaimed exhibition, Super Contemporary, on view at Creativity Explored April 30 through June 17, 2015 in which she collaborated with curator and guest artist Jenny Sharaf. Her works has been included in over nine exhibitions at Creativity Explored.
