Eva Jun

Eva Jun was born in San Francisco in 1986 and has been working at Creativity Explored since 2008. Her self-assured attitude has impressed her instructors and can be seen in her artwork.

Jun prefers acrylic, pastel, watercolor, and ink. Her line gives an immense energy to her portrait, still-life, and abstract work. She uses a tactile, loose, gestural stroke; only a few are needed to convey the shape of an object or figure. This technique shows an effortless representation of emotion in the faces she creates. The central image of the piece is often placed on a background where layers of marks, washes, and shading undulate and accent the movement felt in Jun’s work as a whole.

In 2009, Jun began exploring the three-dimensional aspects of wood by creating cut-outs of her drawings of robots and figures.
