Alexander Yeap
b. 1991 ∙ CE artist since 2013
Alexander Yeap works in a variety of media from oil pastel to acrylic, to metallic marker. Yeap is known primarily for his architectural renderings and landscapes. He often tells a story through his artwork by creating colorful frame-by-frame storyboards.
Drawn to abstracting natural elements, in his artwork, he deconstructs animals, landscapes, and landmarks into abstract shapes using vibrant colors. Yeap is a focused artist who devotes careful attention and time to each of his detailed artworks, often sketching all his subjects in neat grids. Yeap works with multiple media including marker, watercolor, and acrylic paint. His strong use of clean horizons define much of his work, whether portraying a soothing landscape or linear city, the viewer is grounded in a traditional photographic viewpoint.
