Steven Geeter

Steven Geeter was born in 1953, and is a San Francisco native. He began working at Creativity Explored in May 2003.

Geeter works with a variety of materials and is always exploring new techniques and media. He tends toward using colored pencils and watercolor. His innate sense of line and form are evident in his subtly powerful portraits and other representational works. The figures in his drawings and paintings with their elongated necks, narrow shoulders, and larger heads, are reminiscent of Modigliani.

His work was selected to be included in the 2004 collection of notecards. Recently, Geeter has had success painting portraits on wood, which are then cut out into three-dimensional works.
