A native of Northern California, Sara O’Sullivan was born in Sacramento in 1966. She soon moved to San Francisco and has been a fixture in the Creativity Explored studio since 1991.
O’Sullivan’s jubilant nature is expressed in her dynamic, energetic artwork. Known as the “Mayor of 16th Street” for her outgoing personality and profusion of neighborhood friends, O’Sullivan is also a vital presence inside of the communal studio.
O’Sullivan is well versed in both drawing and painting media and has recently been making multimedia work on wood panels. Her whimsical portraits, both human and animal, are recognizable by their characteristically lively lines and expressions.
