Loren King

Loren King was born in 1944 in Stockton, California. He has been working at Creativity Explored since 1988. King is a versatile artist, often switching from drawing and painting media, to ceramics, to digital art.

A thin loose line and whimsical figures composed of geometric shapes characterize King’s art. A conscientious artist, King spends much time on each piece. He has a knack for capturing the essence of a subject in his expressive portraits. Recently, he has introduced aspects of volume to his images. For many years, King produced large-scale portraits on plywood cutouts using acrylic paints. These were exhibited at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and in a solo show at Dalva in San Francisco’s Mission District.
