Linda Davenport

A San Francisco native born in 1952, Linda Davenport was one of the first artists working at Creativity Explored when the studio opened in 1983.

With nimble fingers that maneuver with amazing speed, Davenport deftly stitches and manipulates waxed cords into soft sculptural forms. Exclusively a textile artist, Davenport is known for these organic, conical works, but also creates quilts, dolls, and other similar artwork.

Davenport’s dexterous hands also serve as her chief mode of communication since she does not speak, but instead greets her colleagues and studio visitors with a gentle handshake.
