Laron Bickerstaff

Laron Bickerstaff was born in 1971. He has been a studio artist at Creativity Explored since 1997, and works in a variety of two-dimensional media.

Bickerstaff works in several different veins. He is very influenced by pop culture and media icons. He uses these sources as a reference, but adds his own stylistic conventions. Some works depict bold pencil portraits of television characters. Other works are a mix of thoughts and day-to-day visual observations, rendered as a combination of text and bright imagery. These stream-of-consciousness artworks illustrate the wide-ranging stimuli of everyday life: brand names, stores, food and drink, institutions, and chores. These artworks feature both abstract fields of bright color and simplified human figures.
