Hector Lopez

A San Francisco native, Hector Lopez was born in 1968. While Lopez says he has been making art since he was a boy, he joined the Creativity Explored studio in 2006.

Lopez’s large landscapes and portraits are colorful and dynamic, reflecting this artist’s gregarious personality. Using a palette of fiery reds, yellows, and violets, He prefers to paint on pieces of wood. Lopez has been working on a series of autobuses in this medium, depicting buses so large they fill the picture plane and contain multitudes of people behind their windows.

As is clear from his well-populated artwork, Lopez relishes the crowded, bustling studio atmosphere of Creativity Explored. He says he loves working here because he is surrounded by amigos.
