A true Northern Californian, Pancho Cruz was born in Sonoma in 1946 and has been working at Creativity Explored since the early nineties.
A joyful and eager artist, Cruuz likes using a variety of media and doesn’t miss an opportunity to try something new with a visiting artist. He is very skilled at depicting movement and lending subtlety to his work. His large-scale renderings of insects and people are often reminiscent of impressionist paintings.
Cruz proudly identifies himself as a Chicano artist. He also has a strong interest in other cultures and traditions, particularly that of Japan.
