Amani Swalim

Studio artist Amani Swalim recently joined Creativity Explored after graduating from Mission High School. A San Francisco native, she was born in 1985. She primarily works in watercolor and pencil, and has started experimenting with sewing, embroidery, and painting on silk.

Swalim’s favorite subject matter are women of fantasy and fairy-tales: princesses and queens. She uses a warm palette of burgundy, reds, and pinks to depict her characters. Swalim is also proud of her Palestinian heritage, and has started using her personal history in her artwork.
