Abel Pineda

Abel Pineda was born in 1969 in Huetamo, Michoacan, Mexico. He has been creating art in our studio since 1999.

Pineda is known around Creativity Explored for his many stories about life in Michoacan with his mother. He talks about her work on their farm, the food she raised in the fields, and her cooking. Pineda’s drawings and paintings tell a similar story: the ranchito’s bountiful trees, birds, butterflies, cows, goats, armadillos and flowers are all embodied in his artwork.

Fine lines, localized color, and attention to detail characterize Pineda’s work. His precise landscapes and cityscapes convey a sense of nostalgia and memory that makes his artwork very accessible.
