Portrait by Camille Holvoet
Will Skinker is a poet. His writing has appeared in numerous journals in the US and recently in Europe; Auguste Press published MASCARA, his first book, in 2007. He has done readings in the Artifact Series for Innovative Writing and other venues in the Bay Area.
After growing up in rural Virginia, he moved to the west coast in 1998, then to San Francisco in 2000 for graduate school.
Visual art has always a large part of Will’s focus as a writer and he is excited about the new directions that CE has given his overall practice as an artist.
“Work has never been as meaningful to me as it is at CE. I couldn’t have invented such a compelling and influential group of artists to spend each day with. And after many years spent looking, to discover a place and people that are so naturally accepting and generous, is more than I’d ever hoped for.”
