Kelley Kerslake

Visual Arts Instructor

Kelley was born and raised in the shadow of Hollywood, and moved in 1989 to San Francisco for the northern light. On a break from a nascent career in architecture, she worked various jobs involving food, designed and painted theater sets and murals, and went back to school, finally earning a degree in painting at the San Francisco Art Institute. Making art has been her life ever since. She has been teaching art and working with people with disabilities since 1999, much of that time as a substitute teacher at Creativity Explored, and as a Visual Arts Instructor since October 2008. Kelley also coordinates community outings to art galleries, museums, artists’ studios, etc. 

Every day astounds me, here. It is a vibrant, rich environment to work in, one which supports the endless flow of creative energy and ideas: I feel very privileged to be part of that support and witness to the process of so much great art-making.
